Help! I'm drowning in emails!

I create several addresses. First reflex, we sort what we receive with different addresses depending on whether the interlocutors are personal, professional, advertising or newsgroups to which we subscribe. To avoid receiving too much spam, you can even create, on Mail-temporaire.fr or Jetable.org, ephemeral addresses, valid for a few minutes, a few hours or a few weeks, and redirected to your usual email address before disappearing.

I let the computer do the work. On Gmail we look for the " Other actions " button and on Yahoo the " Action " button and we will choose to automatically send the emails in different sub-folders:all the emails from friends will go into a box, those from the job in another one. We sort the emails according to the sender's address, a keyword, the size... It's very flexible. The same kind of manipulation works on Outlook in " Tools " then " Rules and alerts " (it's just a little more complicated). But at least, that way, we won't miss THE super important email lost between the 2,000 emails from Cécile de Rostand from Venteprivee.com and the famous Sophie from Brandalley.

I create folders. Beyond the automatic classifications, we also put order in the emails received:a Photos folder, an Invoices folder, an Invitations folder... A simple drag and drop and we find the desired email much faster!

I regularly empty my box. Do not forget to regularly lighten your mailbox by deleting outdated or useless messages. And, no filter being perfect, we always check what is in our boxes before emptying them. In case a message from his boss slipped into the spam... You never know!
