When you build something, anything, most people will tell you, "Never let that passion die!" "Always remember why you started!" "Always make sure your love for what you do burns!" ”
People will repeatedly remind you to keep moving forward and stay as dedicated as you were on day one. Of course, when you're in the early days of your project, you're extremely motivated, like nothing can go wrong. You know you are strong enough and you believe you can do it. And you probably can.

But sometimes the reality is that you realize, no matter how passionate you are, it just doesn't seem like enough. When this realization hits you, what do you do?
1. Be honest with yourself.
Instead of running out the door and looking for more passion, stop, sit down and talk to yourself about what's going on. How prepared are you to figure out how to make things work when they don't? If you doubt your abilities, no level of passion will help you succeed.
When things shake, don't blame it on lack of passion – try to see the bigger picture. Be honest with yourself and find what is really missing. Is it hard work? Devotion? A willingness to learn from others?
2. Take time to take care of yourself.
Successful people often feel guilty for having time off. I get it. There are things to do and plans that need to be shaped. We have to hustle and work hard. But we also need to take care of ourselves. The wisest and richest people in business too.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, this might be what you need. If you're passionate and love what you're doing but things seem to be all over the place, that's a bright sign that you need to slow down. Pause. Take a time out. Maybe your mind and body want to spend more time in solitude. Give yourself this gift.
3. Don't forget your other strengths.
“Find your passion” is almost a cliché. But I love this. This is what pushed me to build the projects I work on. But we also tend to forget the other things that work hand in hand to help us get through the day. We believe that if we have passion, we can make it happen.
Passion is not the only thing that drove you to start your project. There is strength, love, dedication, wisdom and courage. So many other things have brought you to where you are today. In times when you feel like your passion is withering, don't let it overshadow everything that makes you powerful. Draw your strength from your courage, your wisdom and your devotion. You are full of potential.
4. Divert your attention.
Diversion is not synonymous with distraction. Don't forget that. Rather, it helps keep the brain fresh and energized. When you only have one thing to focus on, you will find yourself stuck in a rut, bored and tired. But focusing on too much things will cause you to be disorganized and confused about what to do first. So how do you strike a balance?
Try to focus on three to five different projects at a time. Even the little ones. Not everything has to be big. Every day for five days a week, allocate time for the five projects. These are small steps, but it will help your creative gremlin stay active.
5. Let go.
I know it hurts, especially if you're working on your first big passion project. Nobody wants to leave that behind. But sometimes the universe has something bigger in store for us. This is when you need to listen to your inner self.
If you've invested a lot of time and money into something and it's not improving, and you feel less driven to it working, maybe it's a sign to stop and let go. Remember, there are many other dreams within you that require action. Be kind to yourself.
