Almost 80 percent of all Dutch people who drink coffee or tea at work think that this makes the working day more enjoyable. Three quarters of them can feel full again after drinking a cup of coffee or tea and half believe that good coffee and tea makes a moment with colleagues more valuable. In short, good coffee or tea is worth its weight in gold. This is apparent from research among 1,016 Dutch people by Douwe Egberts.
9 out of 10 working people in the Netherlands drink coffee or tea at work. Of these, 82 percent like to have a cup of coffee and 54 percent prefer tea. The hot drinks seem to promote performance in the workplace, provided they are of good quality. For example, 70 percent of working people in the Netherlands indicate that meetings run better with a cup of good coffee or tea. Two thirds say they are sharper after drinking good coffee or tea and almost half often have better ideas after drinking a cup of coffee or tea.
For many Dutch people, a cup of good coffee or tea is indispensable for a good start to the day (79%). According to two thirds, drinking coffee or tea makes us happier. Drinking coffee or tea is a moment of relaxation for 86 percent. Drinking a cup of coffee or tea together, according to half of the Dutch population, helps to resolve a conflict. Good coffee or tea can also play a connecting role in the workplace. For example, two-thirds of the workers think that drinking together promotes a team spirit with colleagues and half of them sometimes speak to non-direct colleagues at the coffee machine.
