David Beckham (38) has retired from professional football. Normally I don't care about this kind of news, but now I do. Because I recently read about his wife Victoria, former Spicegirl.
Victoria is not just any football woman. After a mediocre solo career in music, she is now a successful fashion designer. She was recently in the Story † Do you read the Story † No, me neither, only at the hairdresser. And so there I was, and I read a Story from two months ago. The headline read something like:'Is Victoria Beckham making the same mistake as Sylvie Meis?'
What turned out. David Beckham wanted one last fire in the twilight of his football career. He would go to the club Paris Saint-Germain for five months. The family had just returned from Los Angeles, where he had previously played. That's where Victoria started her design agency. Now they had settled in London, from where Victoria wants to 'conquer the European market' with her clothes. Their children had just started school there. Victoria didn't want to move again.
And that was all wrong, thought Story † The comparison with former football woman Sylvie Meis is clear. He also went her own way too much, and is now divorcing Rafael van der Vaart. It wasn't written there literally, but the lesson is clear:a woman should follow her husband and therefore put her own career on the back burner.

Anyway, luckily David is leaving Saint-Germain again and his professional status has finally come to an end. Now his wife can take care of him at home, and in between, who knows, if she has time to spare, do some odd jobs for her business.
