How do I get it all done in terms of planning? Well, sometimes I don't know! In any case with a lot of art and flying work.
You are a mother, day in, day out, 24 hours a day, that needs no explanation. During the day, in the evening, at night… in short, always. But there is also much more in my planning.
Working part-time in Tourism
I work 24 hours a week in tourism. I work at a Holiday Park, where I often have to work on weekends and holidays. This means that I am free during the week to enjoy the children. Great, because I can also go on nice trips with them, where it is not very busy. I have been working at this park for quite some time and I really enjoy it. So great. They take very good account of my wishes regarding the children and my wishes regarding my sport.
I always get my requested days off. But that is also a matter of give and take. I myself am not the worst at staying longer when it is very busy or to possibly work an extra day. In the end, that always works in your favor 😉 . Sometimes my boyfriend, who also sometimes works weekends, and I both have to work on the same weekend day. The children then go to one of the grandfathers or grandmothers. You probably recognize the art and flying work of these kind of days 😉 .
Water polo
I also play competitive water polo. We train twice a week. On Wednesdays at 7 pm. I always go to her swimming lesson with my daughter first. During her class I often look through the window and eat my food. Wednesday is our regular bread-eating day otherwise we won't make it.
When she has finished her lesson and we are back home, I almost immediately have to go to my training. On Friday evenings we also train at 9.15 pm, from September to the end of April (during the competition). A very annoying time. Normally I want to hang out on the couch, at the end of the week, but unfortunately. The children are already in bed by then, so that makes a big difference. I'm always happy when those Friday evening training sessions are over, because they are especially difficult if you want to go away for a weekend, for example, or if there are parties on Friday evening (very regularly).
And then we also have a competition on (usually) Saturday evening from the end of September to the end of April. This is in the south of the Netherlands (Zeeland, Limburg or North Brabant). Unfortunately, not always next door, but fortunately not very far away either. It does require some planning in advance, as we as a team must be present at least 30 minutes before the start of the game. Voilà, even more art and flying work 😉 .
The times we play can vary from afternoon to later in the evening and sometimes we even play on Sundays, although this is very rare. We play our home games late, after the children's bedtime. Well, there goes your Saturday night. We plan a lot of our weekend plans around my sports.
Unfortunately my friend also works weekend shifts. If he has to work and I have a competition, we usually find a babysitter (again) in one of the grandfathers or grandmothers and sometimes the children can stay overnight. That is of course a big party. Other than that, I'm not complaining, but it is busy, even if I choose it myself.
Fortunately, the competition is now coming to an end and we can enjoy our Friday and Saturday evenings again and schedule some more time for ourselves. But I think it's worth the hassle .
I'm curious. Do you also exercise and is that such a hassle for you in the planning? And do you do a team sport or not?
