Discrimination, bullying or (sexual) harassment at work still occurs regularly. More than 1.2 million employees had to deal with this in the past year. In combination with a high workload, undesirable behavior doubles the chance of burnout complaints. Undesirable behavior by supervisors or colleagues has a major impact on the people it happens to. In addition, it is estimated that it results in an average of seven extra days of absenteeism per victim per year. That means 1.7 billion euros in continued payment of wages for employers, calculated TNO. Minister Asscher of Social Affairs and Employment is therefore starting a campaign today to draw attention to this problem. Undesirable behavior is sometimes clearly visible, but often it concerns subtle behavior that is hurtful to the recipient.
As of today, employees and employers can visit www.moettochkansen.nl to discuss undesirable behaviour.
