Women have not opted for a 'typically women's profession' for a long time now. Even though some workplaces are still dominated by men; there is also more and more space available for women. But construction really seems to remain a man's world. So what can you do now to increase your chances as a woman in construction? We are happy to give you some useful tips!
1. Stand your ground
Apart from the fact that a job in construction is physically demanding and working conditions are not always ideal, it has traditionally been the domain of men. As a woman in such a profession you have to be able to stand your ground. For example, making yourself vulnerable is one of those things that they are not used to in this sector.
2. Follow the safety regulations
There are of course all kinds of safety regulations in construction that you have to adhere to. By being aware of these regulations and equipping yourself well, you increase your chances of getting a job. Think, for example, of wearing a construction helmet, the right modern work shoes, a dust mask, safety glasses, gloves and so on. 3. Assume a full-time position

Make sure you are well informed in every area; and thus also in terms of functions. There have been all kinds of campaigns in recent years to involve women in construction. 5. Have and present the right skills Either way, make sure you have the right skills and, like any other job, know how to present them. Show initiative, don't be afraid to ask questions, be confident and above all be clear and direct.
