Knowing when your basic retirement pension is paid, as well as your supplementary pension, is essential for managing your budget well and being able to meet your expenses, particularly related to housing, consumption, leisure, etc. Whether you are a former employee, self-employed, civil servant, or former agricultural worker, these retirement pensions are in principle paid monthly into the bank accounts of their beneficiaries, most often at the beginning of the month. Some pension funds, however, pay pensions at the end of the month. The only exception to this rule is when the amount of the retirement pension is very low. In this case, it is paid in a single payment once a year, or in a single installment in the form of a capital. The time it takes for pensions to be paid into the bank account of their beneficiaries then depends on each financial institution. Find here the details of the dates of your retirement pension payments in 2022, depending on your situation and your pension fund.
Former employees in the private sector receive a basic retirement pension from the Social Security system, more specifically from the National Old Age Insurance Fund (Cnav), and a supplementary retirement pension from the General Association of Pension Institutions for executives - Association for the supplementary pension scheme for employees (Agirc-Arrco). The basic and supplementary pensions are paid to the retirees concerned once a month, in arrears, i.e. the month following their retirement, according to the 2022 calendar indicated below.
Former private sector employees who depend on the Alsace-Moselle Pension and Occupational Health Insurance Fund (Carsat) benefit from a specific scheme. As a result, their retirement pension payment dates are somewhat different from other private sector retirees. In particular, they are paid on the 1 st day of the month of the monthly payment concerned or on the first working day that follows, if the first of the month is a Saturday or a public holiday.

The dates of payment of retirement pensions to former civil servants depend on the side of the civil service where they made their career. There is, on the one hand, a schedule of payments for former State civil servants, magistrates and retired soldiers and, on the other, for retired civil service and hospital civil servants who depend on the National Retirement Fund for Local Government Agents (CNRACL).

Employees in the agricultural sector and non-employees in the same sector such as farmers, farm employees or family helpers depend on a particular social protection body, the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA), which also manages their retirement. MSA retirement pensions are paid monthly on a schedule set for 2022 as follows:

The social security system for the self-employed, which therefore also concerns their pension system, is quite similar today to that of employees since the modifications made to their own system, the Social security for the self-employed, which replaced the Social security system for the self-employed ( ROI). Their situation with regard to retirement nevertheless depends on their former status (craftsman, merchant, micro-entrepreneur, etc.) and whether they have also had a salaried activity during their professional career or not. It also differs depending on whether it is their basic or supplementary pension.
Given the diversity of their situation, no annual schedule is determined for the payment of retirement pensions to self-employed retirees as it exists for other retirees.
Nevertheless, in general, the Retirement Insurance pays their basic pension monthly and in arrears, that is to say at the end of the period for which pension rights are open. The payment of their retirement pension therefore occurs in principle in their bank account between the 8th and the 10th of the following month.
