Working as a coach at Weight Watchers. Claudia now knows all about it and she tells uninhibitedly about the job she started 8 years ago. Claudia started as a coach at the time after she herself had lost 36 kilos with the Weight Watchers program. A satisfied customer is the best ambassador and perhaps an even better coach.
Claudia knows better than anyone what it's like to struggle with a weight problem. This means that she can empathize very well with her customers. She was triggered by the Weight Watchers method. “Weight Watchers doesn't prohibit anything. You just have to make sure you stay within your personal SmartPoints budget. That is calculated on the basis of your height, weight, age and gender”, she calls out when I ask her why she chose this program.
After her positive experiences as a customer at Weight Watchers, she didn't have to think twice about wanting to work at Weight Watchers herself. As a coach.
Claudia started giving 2 courses in addition to the full-time job she already had at the time. She soon became so enthusiastic about this job that she went from teaching 2 to 4 courses a week. Until she came to a point when her enthusiasm and passion for Weight Watchers were unstoppable. She traded her old full-time job for a full-time job at Weight Watchers.
When asked why she likes her work as a coach at Weight Watchers, Claudia says the following. “I think it's fantastic to deal with people and to guide them in their lifestyle change. You can make an effective difference by supporting them and thereby also grow in your development.”
Have you ever considered whether working at Weight Watchers would be for you? Then now is your chance. They are looking for 50 new coaches in the Benelux to guide as many people as possible towards a healthy lifestyle.
On average, as a coach, you give 2 courses a week. In the evenings. Very easy to combine with any part-time job you already have. But also easy to combine if you are not currently working but have a family that you take care of. Is your partner at home in the evenings? Then you might be able to work as a coach for two evenings. It is also good to know that the place where you give the courses will be as close as possible to where you live.
In addition to the two evenings on which you give a course, you still need some preparation time to be able to give the course and do some social media. Fortunately, you will be supported in your work by Weight Watchers in all cases. With, for example, the themes for the courses and all kinds of tools to design your course and your social media.
“As a coach, you determine in consultation how many and which moments you work, and that gives you a lot of freedom”. Another advantage of working at Weight Watchers, according to Claudia.
Don't worry, there is no laundry list of requirements to make working at Weight Watchers possible. Of course it is nice if you have no problem guiding a group of students, but what is not can still come! And Weight Watchers fully supports its coaches in this.
Experience in a similar position is therefore not necessary, says Claudia. “You will see that the chemistry in the group of students you supervise ensures inspiring evenings. Evenings that are experienced together and where you as a coach indicate the direction”.
It is nice if you are interested in a healthy lifestyle and everything that comes with it. After all, that's what the entire program and supervision is about.
Does this job seem interesting to you, but are you wondering how to get all the information to get started? I can also tell you something about that.
Before you start working as a coach at Weight Watchers, you will receive an intensive 5-day training at the Weight Watchers Academy. You will immerse yourself in nutrition and you will also receive behavioral training, for example. But you will also learn the ins &outs of the program and the administrative part. In addition, you will do an internship with another coach for a day so that you can also feel how things are going in practice.
If you start setting up your own course, you will be guided by a mentor, which is great.
And are you completely up and running in your job as a coach at Weight Watchers? Even then you will receive regular additional training in the most recent (scientific) nutritional insights. This way you stay up to date in order to be able to speak to your students properly.
In your job as a coach you are employed.
