The Backstage screen has its uses if you save files to your OneDrive folder. If you don't save files to the cloud, it's just one more obstacle to your maximum productivity.
Let's jump right into this with a small change to an Office setting.
You can save files directly to your local folder by clicking the File icon on the Quick Access toolbar at the top. Backstage view can be made to disappear in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. With the Backstage screen gone, you can directly open the Save As dialog box when selecting Save or Save As for a new file.
Please note that changing this setting in one Office application changes it for others such as Excel and PowerPoint automatically.
Click on the File tongue. In the menu on the left, go to Options .
In the Options dialog box, click Save in the configuration list on the left.
In the Save Documents section, check the Don't show Backstage when opening or saving files checkbox adjustment. Click OK to accept the change.
Even though you've disabled Backstage view now, this doesn't seem to apply when opening files. To open a file, you need to follow the previous path of clicking the File tab to open Backstage view. One way to open a file by skipping it is to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O . This will directly display the Open dialog.

But this little tweak returns a second here and there when saving a file. This isn't a huge change to your workflow, as the File menu is always just a click away. But the seconds add up.
