Self-care seems like a sacred word reserved for activities you do in the privacy of your home — things like yoga, long baths, and quiet meditative evenings. It is a very deliberate form of healing, a ritual over which we have total control. But away from home, in places like the office, the concept of well-being is changing. We believe this is something our employers should try first:a workplace culture that makes us happy.
But at the end of the day, it's all up to you. Your business may provide snacks, board games, and parties, but it doesn't hurt to personalize your workday to make you happier.

A happy worker increases their productivity by 12%, according to a 2014 study from the University of Warwick. If you're feeling miserable at work, try changing up your routine with these quick and nourishing activities.
1. Healthy snacking and frequent snacking.
A hungry human is a grumpy human. When you're low on energy, fuel up with a handful of nuts, dried fruit or a whole grain protein bar.
2. Do something you enjoy on your lunch break.
Play an instrument, work on that novel you've written, or go feed the ducks at a nearby park. It gives your day some variety and creates a sense of purpose outside of your cabin.
3. Take group walks.
But don't talk about work or gossip about co-workers. Keep the conversation clear with topics like weekend plans and new TV shows.
4. Keep a small LEGO collection at your desk.
You will only need 20-30 pieces for this healthy distraction. Challenge yourself to create something new by using each piece at least three times a week.
5. Work in pairs.
You may have fallen in love with your job, but that doesn't mean every aspect of your business is boring. Join a team member for a group project or venture beyond your department to learn something new and refresh your perspective.
