Google recently announced a new update to its goals feature in Google Calendar, and it comes just in time for those of you tackling your new year's resolutions.
Introduced in April, Google Calendar's Goals feature makes it easy to track progress on your goals. The feature works best if you're a regular Google Calendar user.
After setting a goal for yourself, you'll be asked to answer questions like how often and when is the best time. Google Calendar will find the best time in your calendar for you to work towards your goals.
So what has changed? Now you can track your progress when it comes to your fitness goals. By connecting Google Fit for Android users or Apple Health for iOS users. Google Calendar will be able to keep track of each of your workouts, mark them as done and give you an overview of your performance.
So if you were looking for that extra encouragement to stick to your resolutions, this might be it.
To create a goal, launch the Google Calendar app on your phone and tap + button, and select Goal . You can choose from exercise, skill, friends and family, “personal time,” and organizational goals.
If you want to test the new features, select Exercise and choose from the list of available fitness activities. As you cycle through the options, you'll be prompted to connect your goal to the Google Fit or Apple Health apps.
